Ahead of Prime Minister’s visit to Rajasthan’s Gurjar deity Shree Devnarayan’s 1111th birth anniversary in Malaseri Dungri village of Bhilwara district,  Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved the proposal declaring lord Shree Devnarayan Jayanti as a State holiday on January 28.

The decision has been taken by the Chief Minister keeping in mind the faith of the common man and the demand of the public representatives.

Devnarayan Board Chairman, Jogendra Singh Awana, Industries Minister Shakuntala Rawat and Minister of State for Sports Ashok Chandna, including various people’s representatives had written letters demanding that Lord Shri Devnarayan Jayanti be declared a holiday.

It is notable that Lord Shri Devnarayan is worshiped as a protector of cows, a folk deity who removes the sufferings of helpless people and a mighty warrior. Lord Shri Devnarayan is worshiped by a large number of devotees from different societies in Rajasthan and other states.
