Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin underwent a successful cardiac therapeutic procedure at Apollo Hospital here on Thursday to correct the irregular variations in his heart rate.
He was admitted to the hospital on Monday after he complained of ‘giddiness’ during his routine morning walk and was advised to take rest at the hospital for three days. And, today is the fourth day for him at the hospital at Greams Road.

In a medical bulletin, the hospital said the Chief Minister is healthy and is expected to carry on his normal official duties in a couple of days. While not elaborating on the angio test and other procedures for the irregular heart rate, it maintained that the Chief Minister is keeping fine.
The procedure was carried out on the advice of a team of medical experts led by renowned interventional cardiologist Dr Sengottuvelu. According to the bulletin, the diagnostic angiogram carried out was normal.
The Chief Minister, clad in a lungi, has been engaged with official work. Besides reviewing the ongoing 45-day mega massive state-wide outreach programme ‘Ungaludan Stalin,’ through special camps at residential localities both in urban and rural areas to provide various government services at the doorstep of the people, he has been active on the micro-blogging site ‘X’, making announcements and posting messages.
With his hospital suite turned into an office space, he interacted with beneficiaries of ‘Ungaludan Stalin’ through video conferencing and attended to files, obtaining necessary information from the Chief Secretary and giving instructions wherever required.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister’s elder brother M K Alagiri and senior most Tamil Nadu minister and DMK General Secretary K Duraimurugan, who visited Stalin at the hospital, said that he would be discharged shortly.
