Continuing his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remark that the ‘DMK is harassing Biharis’, made at an election rally in poll-bound Bihar, Chief Minister MK Stalin on Monday dared him to repeat the same in Tamil Nadu, which welcomes migrant workers and entrepreneurs, ensuring they live in peace and happiness.

“It is a drama enacted solely for the purpose of electoral gain. I ask him whether he can speak the same here in Tamil Nadu? Will he? Does he have the temerity and audacity to repeat the same here?” he fumed, speaking after solemnising the self-respect marriage of DMK MP, A Mani, at Dharmapuri.

“Whatever conspiracy the BJP might hatch, fake news and slander they might spread, nothing would succeed in Tamil Nadu. I want to emphasise this. The hate speech of Modi against Tamils and Tamil Nadu in Bihar is borne out of the failure of the BJP’s every design in the Dravidian land. They are bound to fail,” he made it clear.

“Tamil Nadu is a land that welcomes migrants to live and prosper, and everyone settled here knows this. It was heartening that recently migrant workers, in media interviews, have praised Tamil Nadu for social harmony and the facilities they are availing like the locals,” Stalin explained.

Turning his ire at the Election Commission (EC) over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, commencing in the State on Tuesday (November 4, 2025), the DMK president alleged that the exercise is an evil design of the EC keeping in mind the upcoming 2026 assembly election. “When only a few months are there for the election, where is the compulsion to hold the SIR in a hurry? The reason is that it is a ploy to delete genuine voters, as happened in Bihar. Now, they want to replicate it in other states. But we are determined to stop it and have taken a decision at the all-party meeting held on Sunday,” he said.

Criticising the AIADMK for playing into the hands of the BJP, he said, “AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) abstained from the meet. A few other parties, too, have boycotted it. However, they have opposed the SIR before the EC. While EPS harbours a suspicion about the SIR, he is not opposing it for fear of the BJP. He is playing a dangerous double game. In his letter to the party cadre, he had asked them to be vigilant about the SIR.”
