The Samajwadi Party has lodged a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer( CEO) of Uttar Pradesh highlighting irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Muzaffarnagar and Jhansi districts.

The party submitted a memorandum demanding that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in Muzaffarnagar’s six assembly constituencies be directed to visit each voter’s doorstep and provide them with enumeration forms.

Furthermore, as per the regulations of the Election Commission of India (ECI), they demanded that these forms should be accepted without any documentation.

The memorandum, submitted by SP State President Shyam Lal Pal on Wednesday, alleges that instead of conducting door-to-door surveys, BLOs are calling voters at the residences of village heads, ration dealers, or individuals associated with the ruling party, and are handing out only one enumeration form to each voter. Furthermore, voters are being pressured to provide documents, a violation of Election Commission directives. The Samajwadi Party has stated that this process has created confusion among voters.

The party has also complained of serious irregularities in Jhansi district. The memorandum states that the 2003 voter list has been incorrectly uploaded to the Commission’s website in the 222-Babina and 225-Garautha assembly constituencies. Opening the list for any polling station displays a list from another polling station, causing significant inconvenience to voters, booth-level agents, and workers.
