Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut was discharged from the hospital today after a three-day stint where he underwent an angioplasty operation.

While leaving the Lilavati Hospital premises, displaying his fighting spirit, Raut once again reiterated his party’s demand, “Chief Minister will be from Shiv Sena.”The message must be for the potential new allies the Congress and Nationalist Congress Party.

Raut, the 57-year-old Rajya Sabha member and Shiv Sena’s spokesperson has been tweeting from his hospital bed here over the current political situation in Maharashtra.

Today he tweeted famous Hindi literarian Harivansh Rai Bachcha’s ‘Agnipath’ suggesting the difficult phase ahead for Shiv Sena. ,

Raut fell back on literature on Tuesday as well and tweeted a famous Hindi poem “Koshish karne walon ki haar nahi hoti…,” definitely depicting Shiv Sena’s stand and approach on the whole issue, post Maharashtra Assembly results. The poem by poet Sohan Lal Dwivedi, “Lahron se dar kar nauka paar nahi hoti, koshish karne walon ki haar nahi hoti (If you have fear of waves, your boat won’t be able to cross the ocean. those who try, never fail,” he tweeted. He further said, “hum honge kamyab.. zaroor honge (we will succeed, for sure)”.

Many Congress leaders came to meet Raut this morning. Balasaheb Thorat the state chief and others called on to enquire about his health.

NCP President Sharad Pawar and MP Supriya Sule, Sena President Uddhav Thackeray and later senior leader Eknath Shinde had also visited Raut, besides Bharatiya Janata Party former minister Ashish Shelar and other leaders from various parties.

At the height of the political drama in Maharashtra in which he is the key player, on Monday evening, Raut, 57, was rushed Lilavati Hospital for an angiography.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital on Monday afternoon after he complained of chest discomfort.

“Sanjay first underwent an angiography in which two blockages were detected in one of the arteries. Later in the night, an angioplasty was performed and he is recovering and stable now,” his brother Sunil Raut told reporters.

The Rajya Sabha MP’s brother Sunil Raut further said, “Since the last 15 days, Sanjay Sahab has been suffering from chest pain. But it’s not serious. He has been admitted for a routine check-up. I think today evening his angiography will be performed and he will be released in a day or two.”

Famous cardiologist Dr Ajit Menon carried out the operation procedure. He had earlier treated late Sena founder Bal Thackeray.

Sanjay Raut had been the vocal face of Sena since the elections, pressing for the party’s demands from the BJP. The tussle between BJP and Sena intensified after the former refused two major demands – holding of the chief minister’s post on a rotational basis and implementation of a “50:50 power-sharing” formula, which entails equal allocation of ministerial portfolios.

Now that the NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena are in the process of government formation and talks are going on to finalise the modalities, Raut’s presence is good news for the party.
