Upon hearing the news, the ongoing protest at the district headquarters immediately transformed into a celebration. People congratulated each other, showering each other with colored powder (abir and gulal).

Advocate Sarika Dubey said that protests had been ongoing at the district headquarters for the past three days.

She said, “This is a victory for Sanatan Dharma. This law was creating inequality and undermining mutual brotherhood and harmony.”
Gaurish Singh of the Kesariya Bharat organization said, “This is not a celebration of anyone’s victory or defeat, but a victory for equality. This law was divisive along caste lines. The Supreme Court, by staying the rules, has saved the country from a deteriorating situation.”

Advocate Santosh Singh said, “This law was isolating the general category in educational institutions. It was being opposed not only in Kashi but across the entire country. Before implementing any regulations, it is essential to understand their effects. The protests across the country were not against any caste, but against this law.”
