The Supreme Court has stayed the Rajasthan High Court’s interim order passed on September 8 in a matter related to the cancellation of the SI Recruitment Exam-2021, which was marred by a paper leak.
A division bench of the apex court comprising Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Manmohan stayed the interim order passed by the division bench of the High Court comprising Justices Sanjeev Prakash Sharma and Sanjith Purohit in the matter. The HC bench had ruled against the cancellation of the SI Recruitment ordered by a single bench of Justice Sameer Jain on August 28.

Justice Jain had cancelled the entire process of the examination, selection, and posting-training of SIs in the wake of a large-scale paper leak and other irregularities.
Many recruits challenged the HC single bench’s verdict. While hearing the appeal, Justices Sharma and Purohit, in their interim order on September 8, stayed the order of exam cancellation. The bench also allowed the training of recruits but barred their field postings until the final order in the appeal.
Hearing the special leave petition (SLP) on Wednesday, the apex court bench stayed the September 8 interim order and also barred the training of the SI recruits.
The Supreme Court also directed the HC division bench to decide the appeal within three months.
