Sant Niranjan Das Maharaj, the head of Dera Sachkhand Ballan, will arrive in Kashi from Jalandhar tomorrow, January 30, with hundreds of devotees on a special train to participate in the Sant Ravidas Jayanti celebrations.
Invitations have also been sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, but no confirmation of their attendance has been received yet.

L Sarova, a trustee of the Shri Guru Ravidas Janm Sthan Public Charitable Trust, said that a contingent of volunteers is arriving in Kashi. Devotees from several states of India, including Punjab, Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana, and Jammu and Kashmir, have started arriving gradually.

Devotees (NRIs) from several countries, including the US, Canada, and the UK, have also started arriving in Kashi to participate in the Guru Ravidas Jayanti celebrations on the auspicious occasion of Magh Purnima. Tents have been set up near the temple, arranged according to different states, and a community kitchen (langar) has also been started.
Trustee L Sarova said that devotional singing and recitations are continuously undertaken at the temple. Sant Niranjan Das Maharaj will arrive in Kashi tomorrow afternoon. Invitations have also been sent to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and top Congress leaders, but the Trust has not yet received any confirmation of their attendance.
More than three trucks carrying rice, flour, lentils, and other food items have arrived in Kashi from Punjab. Hundreds of volunteers are engaged in service activities.
The Varanasi Police issued a traffic advisory on Thursday regarding the Sant Ravidas Jayanti celebrations. Sant Ravidas’s birth anniversary will be celebrated on February 1st. The Sant Ravidas Jayanti programs are scheduled from January 30 to February 1. To ensure security arrangements during these programmes and to facilitate smooth traffic for the city residents, the Varanasi Commissionerate Traffic Police has issued the following advisory. Traffic restrictions/diversions will be in effect from January 30 (8:00 AM) to February 1 (12 midnight).
No vehicles will be allowed to proceed from Bhagwanpur Mor towards Sant Ravidas Temple. These vehicles will be diverted towards Nagwa/Malviya Gate.
Necessary diversions have been arranged for buses within the city.
All types of vehicles coming from Ramnagar Chowk towards Varanasi will not be allowed to proceed towards Samne Ghat Bridge. These vehicles will be diverted from Ramnagar Chowk towards Tengra Mor, from where they will reach their destination via NH-19.
All types of vehicles from Samne Ghat Bridge (western side) will not be allowed to proceed towards Nagwa Chowki. These vehicles will be diverted towards Harsewanand College, from where they will reach their destination via Harsewanand College.
No vehicles of any kind will be allowed to proceed from Ravidas Gate towards Lanka Police Station/Nagwa Chowki. These vehicles will be diverted towards Malviya Gate, from where they will reach their destination via Malviya Gate Chowk.
The traffic police have requested citizens to follow these restrictions and use alternative routes to avoid congestion and inconvenience.
