Samajwadi Party MP Ajendra Singh Lodhi has landed himself in major trouble for making objectionable comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as BJP leaders lodged a case against him on Tuesday, May 12.

Further, a detailed investigation has started into his speech during a demonstration, which is believed to have turned abusive and derogatory.

Notably, Lodhi recently led a protest by the Samajwadi Party workers outside the District Collector’s office, where he is said to have made distasteful and objectionable comments on Prime Minister Modi.

The BJP leaders, who have filed a case against him, have claimed that Lodhi called Prime Minister Modi “anti-national” and also made abusive and personalised comments.

His comments have sparked massive outrage as several BJP supporters burned an effigy of the SP lawmaker, demanding immediate action against him.

Later on, a party delegation – led by the district media in-charge Satendra Gupta – reached the police station and lodged a case against Lodhi.

The Samajwadi Party workers were staging a protest outside the Collectorate as they questioned the government over multiple problems, such as power cuts, drinking water crisis, malfunctioning in smart metres as well as crop insurance scam.

While the party workers were engaged in sloganeering and protests, Lodhi is believed to have crossed the line and allegedly hurled disparaging jibes at the Prime Minister.

He even raised questions against the state and central government over various issues like closure of hundreds of schools. The Samajwadi Party leader also alleged manipulation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the recently concluded West Bengal elections.

He claimed that Uttar Pradesh will not fall victim to the Election Commission’s antics and will form the government in the state next year.
