Sabarimala gold heist: Devaswom Board, minister connived with Potty: Congress leader

Senior Congress leader and Opposition leader in the Kerala VD Satheesan on Sunday alleged that the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) and the minister connived with Unnikrishnan Potty, the prime accused in the Sabarimala gold theft case.

Speaking to the media in Kochi, Satheesan said if Unnikrishnan Potty gets caught, all of them will get caught. Therefore, they are trying to save Potty.

He further said that if the high court had not intervened, the gold idol of Lord Ayyappa would also have been stolen.

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has brought Potty to Thiruvananthapuram after collecting evidence in Chennai and Bengaluru. It has found that the accused conducted transactions worth crores in Bengaluru. 176 grams of gold were seized from his house at Srirampura, in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The investigating team has said that gold and important evidence were found in the evidence collection conducted in Chennai and Bengaluru with Unnikrishnan Potty. The documents of the real estate transactions worth crores made by Potty based in Bengaluru were also taken into custody and brought to Thiruvananthapuram.
