Family unaware of developments

“My eldest son, Shoaib, lives here with me. The second, Shaheen Syed, was arrested yesterday. She studied medicine in Allahabad. My younger son, Parvez Ansari, whose house was raided this morning, left the city long ago,” shared Ansari.

Both Shaheen and Parvez pursued medical education, he added, saying he hadn’t seen them in over a year and a half.

“I last spoke to Shaheen about a month ago, but I talk to Parvez almost every week. I had no idea about Shaheen’s arrest. I last spoke to Parvez last Tuesday. We never discussed anything except his well-being,” he said..

Parvez, according to his father, now lives in Saharanpur with his wife.

Probe reveals links to university doctor

Investigators said Dr Shaheen was associated with Al-Falah University in Haryana and allegedly maintained close contact with Dr Muzammil, a Kashmiri doctor who was arrested after police discovered nearly 2,900 kg of explosives and inflammable material in his rented accommodations in Faridabad.

Based on Muzammil’s statements, the police later seized a Swift car registered to a woman doctor from Al-Falah Hospital, recovering a Kalashnikov assault rifle from the vehicle.

Raids across Haryana continue

Haryana DGP OP Singh confirmed that extensive raids are underway across several districts, including at Al-Falah Medical College and Hospital, as authorities track the network behind the seized cache of arms and explosives. Searches were also conducted on the Al-Falah University campus, with several individuals (including faculty members and students) taken in for questioning.

Police sources said more than 52 people, including the medical college principal, have been interrogated so far.

Possible Red Fort blast connection

The arrests follow a blast near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station a day earlier, where a Haryana-registered Hyundai i20 exploded near Gate No 1, killing at least eight people and injuring several others. Teams from the NIA and ATS later visited Dr Shaheen’s family home in Lucknow as part of the widening probe into the suspected Faridabad terror module.
