Signs are not good over Congress view on inheritance tax: Rajnath Singh
Singh was addressing an election rally in Lakhimpur Kheri in support of the BJP candidate and Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra Teni.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and MoS for Health and Family Welfare on Saturday paid tributes to Uttarakhand finance minister Prakash Pant in Pithoragarh. Prakash Pant had passed away in Texas in the US on Wednesday where he was undergoing treatment for cancer.
Pant was undergoing treatment in the US since March this year. He was adored by all for his simple and friendly behaviour. The Uttarakhand government had announced a three-day state mourning.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed pain over the loss of Prakash Pant and sharing the grief said, “Anguished by the passing away of Uttarakhand`s Finance Minister Prakash Pant. His organisational skills helped strengthen the BJP and administrative skills contributed to Uttarakhand`s progress. My thoughts are with his family and supporters. Om Shanti.”

Born on 11 November 1960, Pant made big strides in Uttarakhand politics and he was even in the race for the coveted Chief Minister post twice. From a chemist to a top Uttarakhand political leader, Prakash Pant held many important portfolios in the BJP rule in the hill state. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat has expressed shock over the death of Prakash Pant and termed it a loss of own family member.
