RudraM-II passes crucial test as India sharpens indigenous strike capability

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reached Jaisalmer on a three-day visit to participate in a number of programmes, including the Army Commanders’ Conference on Friday.

On Friday morning, the defence minister will fly to Tanot border post to pay obeisance at the Tanot Mata shrine. Thereafter, he will proceed to the Longewala border post by helicopter where he would pay floral tributes at the memorial of the martyrs who laid the supreme sacrifice for the motherland in the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

Singh will also interact with soldiers there at the post. India had achieved historic triumph against the Pakistan army in this key border front during the 1971 war.
Later in the day, he would attend the Army Commanders’ conference in Jaisalmer. The parleys in the conference, that would last Saturday, would revolve around the Army’s principal theme of the “Year of Reforms”.
He would also attend a couple of programmes at the Army War Museum in Jaisalmer.
