The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled the affiliation of the school in Jaipur after its 4th-standard girl student committed suicide two months ago.
The nine-year-old had jumped off from the fourth storey of the Neeraja Modi School building in the Mansarovar area here on November 1, 2025. The girl, allegedly scared of bullying by school staff and being pulled by some students, had ended her life by suicide. Before taking the extreme step, the child tried to speak to her teacher, but didn’t get a response.

The tragic incident was probed at different levels in the state as well as at the CBSE. A panel of officials from the school education department that inquired about the incident had submitted its report to State Education Minister Madan Dilawar about a fortnight back.

The CBSE officials also held an inquiry in the case, and the action against the school seemed to have been taken in light of the findings of the probe.
Meanwhile, the school management sacked two teachers about 10 days ago in this connection.
