Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Tuesday inaugurated or laid foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 377 crore in Lunkaransar town of the Bikaner district.

Addressing a gathering at the function held to launch the works, Sharma said the projects being inaugurated or commenced work would realise the state government’s goal of transforming the Lunkaransar assembly segment of this district into one of the most developed constituencies. He said the projects included a well-equipped Sub District Hospital with investment of Rs 40 crore, which would have all infrastructure facilities and expertise treatment services in outdoor and indoor wards and surgeries in all specialities.

Besides, works for repair and maintenance of the canal system, including works on the Indira Gandhi canal, were also being done. The state government has plans for laying the best quality of roads in the Lunkaransar region, Sharma said.

Food and Supply Minister Sumit Godhara said the road laying works with an allocation of Rs 100 crore were in progress in this region.

Godara appealed to Chief Minister Sharma for building a Mini Secretariat in the district that could ensure smooth and quick delivery of various district administration related works and services to the people at the single location.

Earlier, the Chief Minister landed at the Naal Airport to a warm welcome by the ruling BJP functionaries and the district administration officials. From Bikaner, Sharma proceeded to Lunkaransar.
