Bad weather forces Rahul to cancel Almora rally, return to Delhi
Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi's Almora rally was cancelled on Thursday owing to bad weather conditions in the Kumaon region.
“The news of the deaths of several people and the missing of many others due to heavy rains and landslides in various parts of West Bengal and Sikkim is extremely heartbreaking,” Gandhi said.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Sunday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and damage caused by heavy rains and landslides in West Bengal and Sikkim. In a social media post, he conveyed his condolences to the affected families and appealed for acceleration in relief and rescue operations.

The floods in West Bengal have caused widespread destruction, with several districts affected by heavy rainfall and landslides. The government has deployed rescue teams, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), to assist in relief operations.
