He also voiced concerns about what he described as threats to this legacy, stating, “But today, certain forces are deliberately working to weaken this legacy of Babasaheb and our Constitution — democratic institutions are being hollowed out, rights are being suppressed, and the idea of equality is under attack.”

‎Reiterating his commitment, he said, “This nation is built on Babasaheb’s ideals — and I will continue to fight with all my strength, till my last breath, to protect them. Together, we will realise the India of Babasaheb’s dreams.” He also extended greetings on the occasion, saying, “Heartfelt greetings to all of you on Ambedkar Jayanti.”

‎Priyanka Gandhi, in her message, highlighted Ambedkar’s foundational role in shaping modern India. “Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, provided every Indian with a protective shield in the form of the Constitution, which guarantees liberty, equality, justice, and fraternity,” she said.

She further noted that his tireless efforts ensured that “the concerns of the marginalized became an integral part of our freedom movement and the Constitution,” adding that “equal opportunities, equal rights, and the welfare of all form the core of his ideology.”

Stressing the need to uphold his vision, she said, “The true tribute to him lies in our resolve to uphold the values of the Constitution and his ideals.”

‎Ambedkar Jayanti, observed annually on April 14, marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a pioneering social reformer whose work continues to shape India’s democratic framework and commitment to equality and justice.
