Punjab has set a target of achieving 90 per cent pre-SIR mapping before the commencement of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
Disclosing this on Monday, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Punjab Anindita Mitra said that more than 84 per cent of voters in the state have already been successfully mapped during the ongoing pre-SIR exercise. The voter lists prepared during the SIR conducted in Punjab in 2003 are being used as the base for matching with the current electoral rolls.

Mitra further clarified that even if a voter is not pre-mapped, he or she will be required to fill out the Enumeration Form (EF) provided by the Booth Level Officer (BLO) and submit it to the BLO. Thereafter, the concerned voter’s name will be included in the draft electoral roll.
The CEO appealed to the voters of the state to actively participate in the SIR process and extend maximum cooperation to the BLOs.
