Assam CM Himanta issues warning to WAQF Act protesters
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has issued a stern warning against any form of violence or public disorder in connection with protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act.
The locals complained of unbearable stench of chemicals from the rubble was making it impossible to live at the place.

Demanding an immediate clearance of debris of the Harda firecracker factory blast site, more than 100 people residing close to the site resorted to road blockade for more than an hour on Saturday.
The locals complained of unbearable stench of chemicals from the rubble was making it impossible to live at the place.

The irate residents also demanded permanent closure of two more firecracker factories of the accused owner, Rajesh Agrawal, which are also located nearby.

Police have arrested Agrawal and two more people in connection with the massive fire and explosions in the factory on 6 February, which have officially claimed 13 lives till now and left more than 150 injured.
According to reports, the protesters ended their sit-in near the unit on Magadi road in ward number 31 of Harda Municipality, just 2 km off the district headquarters, after the area Sub Divisional Magistrate K C Parthe assured them that their demands would be met in three days.
