Allegations of unauthorised collection of donations, including cash and valuable ornaments, by a private organisation have surfaced at the renowned Maa Bagulamukhi Temple at Nalkheda in Agar-Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh, prompting the district administration to initiate an investigation through a three-member committee.

The allegations at the Maa Bagulamukhi Temple relate to the functioning of a private organisation, which has been accused of printing parallel donation receipts, collecting cash, gold, and silver ornaments from devotees, and depositing them into private bank accounts.

As per the rules, the complete management of the temple is in the hands of the government, with the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) serving as the head of the temple management committee.
Following the complaints of the misappropriation of donations, Collector Preeti Yadav has constituted a three-member committee to conduct a detailed investigation.
The investigation team will be led by B.S. Solanki, Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat. District Treasury Officer Manish Solanki and Chief Municipal Officer of Nalkheda Nagar Parishad, Mini Agrawal, have been made members of the committee.
The ancient Temple is one of the prominent Shaktipeeths in the country.
