Prez Murmu remembers Patel as patriot, leader and nation builder

President Droupadi Murmu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Delhi LG Vinai Kumar Saxena, and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday paid floral tributes to ‘Iron Man of India’ Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 150th birth anniversary.

Taking to social media platform X, Murmu greeted the people of the nation on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the country’s Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

She stated that Patel was a great patriot, visionary leader, and nation builder who accomplished the historic task of uniting the country with unwavering determination, unrelenting courage, and skillful leadership.

She added that Patel’s commitment to duty and spirit of national service is an inspiration for all. ”On the occasion of ‘National Unity Day’, let us come together and resolve to build a strong, harmonious, and prosperous India,” she said.

In a post on X, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the nation would always be grateful to Sardar Sahab for his many public welfare works, from nation building to laying the foundations of a self-reliant India.

Meanwhile, the ‘Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak’ has been awarded to 1,466 personnel of various States/ Union Territories (UTs)/ Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs)/ Central Police Organisations (CPOs) for the year 2025.

The medal is given in recognition of excellent work, promotion of high professional standards, and boosting the morale of the concerned official/officer in the four fields, including Special Operation, Investigation, Intelligence and Forensic Science.

Initiated under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and guidance of Shah, ‘Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak’ is aimed to boost the morale of all police personnel.

The medal is conferred on members of the Police Forces, Security Organization, Intelligence Wing/ Branch/ Special Branch of State/ Union Territories/ Central Police Organizations (CPOs)/Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Forensic Science (Central / State / Union Territories) throughout the Indian Union in consideration for excellence in Operations, outstanding service in Investigation, exceptional performance, indomitable & daring intelligence service, meritorious work done by Serving Government Scientists in the field of Forensic Science.
