PM to inaugurate, lay foundation stones for projects worth Rs 1.22 lakh crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the tribal dominated Banswara in Rajasthan on Thursday to dedicate to the nation or lay foundation stones for projects of Rs 1,22,000 crore, that includes 2800 MW Mahi-Banswara Atomic Energy Plant worth Rs 42,000 crore.

In the bonanza of over Rs 1.22 lakh crore investment, the projects worth Rs 1,08,468 crore are meant for Rajasthan alone, an official communique informed here Wednesday.

The investment in Rajasthan includes Mahi- Banswara Atomic Energy Plant foundation stone laying (Rs 42,000 crore), 590 MW Bikaner Akshaya Energy project (Rs 8500 crore), installing the 15.5 GW capacity transmission lines for Jaisalmer, Barmer, Sirohi, Nagaur and Bikaner (Rs 13,183 crore).

Likewise, work for 15 drinking water projects with a total of Rs 5,884 crore for Banswara, Udaipur, Dungarpur, Dholpur, Sawai Madhopur, Barmer, Dausa, Churu, Ajmer, Bhilwara, and Sikar will also begin.

The foundation stones for two Flyovers for Bharatpur, a bridge over the Banas river and 119 Atal Pragati Paths (roads) will also start from tomorrow (Rs 878 crore).

Work on three 220KV GSS along with the line network in Jaisalmer and Bikaner with a cost of Rs 348 crore, will also begin from Thursday, the communique stated.

Among Rajasthan’s projects, scheduled to be inaugurated and dedicated to the nation tomorrow, are the Rs 20,833-crore project of the Water Resources Department and the 1400 MW Solar Energy projects and 925 MW NOKH Solar Park that involves investment Rs 10,710 crore.

The prime minister will also inaugurate the 895MW decentralised Solar Energy projects under the PM KUSUM-C that came up at the cost of Rs 3,132 crore.

The works under the Isarda Dam project, Dholpur Lift Canal, Battisa drain and other irrigation projects (Rs 2,365) will also be dedicated to the nation.

Minor projects of four departments, roads construction, electricity supply, sewerage, and medical care, completed with a total investment of more than Rs 2,200 crore, will also be inaugurated by PM Modi st function in Banswara.
