On the vibrant occasion of Deepavali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday extended warm greetings to the nation, terming this year’s celebrations as a powerful symbol of India’s resilience, progress, and unity. In a letter to the citizens, PM Modi reflected on the country’s recent milestones and urged all to embrace values that will drive India toward a brighter, self-reliant future.
“This Deepavali marks the second year after the grand construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya,” Modi said, paying homage to Lord Shri Ram’s legacy of righteousness and courage in confronting injustice. He also referenced Operation Sindoor, highlighting it as an example of India’s commitment to justice and strength.

What makes this Deepavali uniquely special, PM Modi noted, is the lighting of lamps across many districts, including remote areas where Naxalism and Maoist terrorism have been eradicated. “The transformation of former militants who have now embraced development and the Indian Constitution is a monumental achievement for our nation,” he emphasized.
The Prime Minister also lauded recent economic reforms, pointing specifically to the implementation of lower GST rates at the start of Navratri. “During this ‘GST Bachat Utsav,’ our citizens have saved thousands of crores, showcasing the government’s dedication to economic growth and easing the burden on consumers.”
Reflecting on India’s position in the global arena, Modi declared, “Bharat has emerged as a beacon of stability and sensitivity,” expressing confidence in India’s trajectory to become the world’s third-largest economy.
Calling on citizens to contribute actively to the nation’s progress, Modi encouraged the adoption of “Swadeshi” products with pride and the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.” He urged respect for India’s linguistic diversity, cleanliness, health consciousness, a 10 percent reduction in oil usage, and the practice of Yoga as essential steps toward building a “Viksit Bharat.”
Ending his message on a note of hope and unity, Modi invoked the symbolism of Deepavali lamps: “When one lamp lights another, the light grows, never diminishes. Let us ignite lamps of harmony, cooperation, and positivity in our society this festival.”
“Wishing everyone a joyous and prosperous Deepavali,” Modi concluded, sending a message of collective strength and celebration to the nation.
