Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil a slew of youth-focused initiatives worth over Rs 62,000 crore on October 4, a release from his office said. The initiatives aim to boost education, skilling, and entrepreneurship in the country, with a special focus on Bihar.
“In a landmark initiative for youth development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil various youth-focused initiatives worth more than Rs 62,000 crore at 11 am in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, giving a decisive push to education, skilling and entrepreneurship across the country,” the release said

The programme will also feature the Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh, the fourth edition of the National Skill Convocation, organized in accordance with the Prime Minister’s vision, where 46 All India Toppers from Industrial Training Institutes under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will be felicitated
The key initiatives include unveiling of:
– PM-SETU: A centrally sponsored scheme with an investment of Rs 60,000 crore to upgrade 1,000 Government ITIs across the country. The scheme will be implemented in a hub-and-spoke model, with 200 hub ITIs and 800 spoke ITIs.
-Vocational Skill Labs: Inauguration of 1,200 vocational skill labs established in Navodaya Vidyalayas and Eklavya Model Residential Schools across 34 states and UTs. These labs will provide hands-on training in high-demand sectors like IT, automotive, and logistics.
-Mukhyamantri Nishchay Svyam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana: Launch of Bihar’s revamped scheme, which will provide a monthly allowance of Rs 1,000 to 5 lakh graduate youth for two years, along with free skill training.
-Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur Skill University: Inauguration of the university in Bihar, which will impart industry-oriented courses and vocational education to create a globally competitive workforce.
-New Academic and Research Facilities: Foundation stone laying for new academic and research facilities in four universities of Bihar, which will benefit over 27,000 students.
-NIT Patna Campus: Dedication of the Bihta campus of NIT Patna, which has advanced facilities like a 5G use case lab and an innovation and incubation centre.
The initiatives are expected to create significant opportunities for India’s youth, integrating education, skill development, entrepreneurship, and improved infrastructure. With a special focus on Bihar, the state is likely to develop as a centre for skilled manpower, contributing to growth both regionally and nationally.
