Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Kartavya Bhavan, a state-of-the-art office complex, on Wednesday at Kartavya Path here, a government release Monday said.
The building is part of the broader transformation of the Central Vista and embodies the government’s commitment to modern, efficient, and citizen-centric governance.

Kartavya Bhavan is designed to foster efficiency, innovation, and collaboration by bringing together various Ministries and Departments currently scattered across Delhi. The building will house offices of key Ministries, including Home Affairs, External Affairs, Rural Development, and Petroleum & Natural Gas.
The building is designed with sustainability in mind, featuring zero-discharge waste management, in-house solid waste processing, extensive use of recycled construction material, energy efficiency by using 30% less energy through advanced HVAC systems, LED lights, and smart energy management, and renewable energy by generating over 5.34 lakh units of electricity every year through solar panels.
Kartavya Bhavan will exemplify modern governance infrastructure, featuring IT-ready and secure workspaces equipped with the latest technology and security systems, ID card-based access controls ensuring secure access to the building, integrated electronic surveillance by enhancing security and monitoring, centralized command system, streamlining operations and management.
The inauguration of Kartavya Bhavan marks a significant milestone in the government’s commitment to modernizing governance infrastructure and promoting sustainable development.
