The Prime Minister will take part in the Vishesh Maha Puja, followed by the Kumbhabhishek and Dhvajarohan ceremonies, which mark the consecration rituals and the hoisting of the temple flag. He will also address the gathering.

The Prime Minister will also release a commemorative stamp and coin on the occasion to mark the rich legacy and spiritual significance of Somnath.

Interestingly, this is PM Modi’s second visit to Somnath this year. On January 10-11, he attended the Somnath Swabhiman Parv, which marked 1,000 years since the first major attack on the temple.

In one of his posts on X, on May 8, PM Modi had said, “On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the consecration of the reconstructed Somnath Temple, I will once again have the privilege of visiting there on May 11.”

“This occasion reminds us of how generations of our nation have continuously struggled to protect this sacred site and for its reconstruction. In this letter, addressed to my fellow countrymen, I have expressed my sentiments dedicated to the grand and divine Somnath abode,” he added.

Located in Prabhas Patan, Veraval, Somnath Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Later in the day, the PM will travel to Vadodara, where he will inaugurate the Sardardham Hostel around 6 pm. The project includes hostel facilities for 1,000 boys and 1,000 girls, along with amenities like a central dining hall, library, and auditorium. PM Modi will also visit various facilities at the Sardardham complex, including the reception area, civil amenities, dining area, and e-library.

Here also, he will address the gathering.
