The government has also supported a total of 18,84,905 electric vehicles (EVs) under the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid and) Electric Vehicles in India (FAME India) scheme till June 30 this year.

Initiatives like the Production Linked Incentive schemes, FAME, SMPEC, capital goods support programs, and e-bus deployment have also contributed to the growth of India’s heavy industries, ensuring inclusivity, innovation, and sustainability.

HD Kumaraswamy stated that these initiatives are shaping a future-ready India, creating jobs, and building technological excellence. The government’s focus on electric mobility, advanced manufacturing, R&D-driven innovation, and sustainable infrastructure is empowering industries to scale globally while reducing import dependence.
