Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended thanks to his mother Heeraben for actively participating in the ‘gratitude call’ at 5 pm for those working amid the coronavirus scare.

Taking it to Twitter, PM Modi thanked his mother in a message in Hindi.

“Maa (Mother) due to the blessings of crores of mothers like you there are numerous like the doctors, nurses, medical staff, policemen, security personnel, cleaners and media persons who are getting inspiration to work amid the crisis. They will get motivation to keep working in the future,” he said.

He also thanked the citizens for their support in the initiative and said the Janata Curfew will be lifted at 9 pm, but people should still keep themselves inside.

In a tweet in Hindi, he said, “This is a beckoning for thanksgiving as well as for the beginning of a long struggle. Let’s tie up ourselves in social distancing for a long struggle to be followed.”

The Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday advised the state governments to allow only essential services in the 75 districts where the cases of deadly coronavirus were found positive.

The State Government may expand the list depending on their assessment of the situation. The government has also announced the suspension of all passenger trains, metro, inter-state passenger transport will March 31, as a measure to tackle the coronavirus crisis.

The cases of COVID-19 have soared up 360 with 7 deaths.
