Father son duo drown in pond
Eyewitnesses said that Govinda Nag, a cook, was in an intoxicated state when he took his son for a swimming lesson to the nearby pond.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday greeted the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on its Raising Day.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said: “Raising Day greetings to @NDRFHQ. They are making commendable efforts to assist people in the most challenging circumstances. Their bravery is admirable. India is making many efforts to strengthen disaster management apparatus including building disaster resilient infrastructure.”
In his message of greeting, Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah tweeted: “My best wishes to the Bravehearts of the NDRF on the occasion of their Raising Day. The journey of the NDRF abounds with exemplary acts of courage and commitment to professional excellence. I salute them for all the lives they saved imperiling their own.”
