He further highlighted the full spectrum of technological innovation, from foundational hardware to next-generation connectivity, reflecting India’s growing role in the global digital landscape.

Akash Ambani highlighted how the IMC showcased the country’s expanding technological ecosystem, from semiconductors and artificial intelligence to fraud prevention and the emerging 6G landscape.

He said the event captured India’s growing strength across the entire digital value chain and reaffirmed the commitment of Indian enterprises to driving innovation.

He added that the India Mobile Congress exemplifies the country’s progress toward becoming a global innovation hub, driven by the combined efforts of startups, academia, and industry leaders.

“What we saw today is a reflection of how far India has come and the kind of future it is shaping,” he noted.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reiterated his call to strengthen ‘Make in India’ across industries, including mobile phones, semiconductors, and electronics, noting that the government is fast-tracking reforms and creating attractive opportunities for investors.

“When I talked about ‘Make in India’, people used to make fun of it. They used to say that because during their time, it took many years for new technology to reach India. We have an answer to that. The country, which used to struggle for 2G, now has 5G mobile connectivity in most of its districts,” PM Modi added.

Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also said that India has transformed from a technology taker to a digital flag bearer of the world.

“From being a technology taker and a technology follower, India today has become the digital flag bearer of the world. Our mobile data costs have fallen in the last 11 years by 98 per cent. There was a time when a single minute of voice was a luxury, and access was an aspiration,” he said.

“But today India is home to 20 per cent of the world’s mobile population, 1.2 billion subscribers. We have grown from 60 million internet broadband users in 2014 under the Prime Minister’s vision to 944 million broadband subscribers,” he added.
