Patanjali University students delivered a strong performance at the national-level Thang-Ta championship, winning medals across multiple weight categories. Sixteen of the seventeen medals were secured by BPES students.

Demonstrating excellent skill, discipline, and determination, students of Patanjali University achieved remarkable success at the All India Inter-University Thang-Ta Championship. The competition was held at Manipur University, Imphal, from April 6 to 9, 2026. The university team secured a total of 17 medals, including 2 gold, 1 silver, and 14 bronze. This achievement is being considered one of the university’s best performances at the national level. Athletes from several universities across the country participated in the competition.
Participation from students ranging from first year to final year reflected the strong talent and guidance available at Patanjali University. The team showcased its competitive strength by winning medals across 11 different weight categories. The gold medals were won by Riya Gaur and Kirti, both second-year BPES students, who delivered outstanding performances in the below-64 kg weight category. The silver medal was secured by Mansi (second-year BPES) in the above-76 kg weight category.

Additionally, 14 bronze medals were won by students including Pooja, Sonia, Naina, Abhishek, Bhavana, Atul, Gauri, Saloni, Mahi, Palak, Prince, Yoginder, Kartikeya, and Hrishabh, highlighting the team’s depth and consistency. A notable aspect of this achievement was that BPES students alone won 16 out of the total 17 medals.
