A Pakistani national was shot dead by Border Security Force (BSF) troops on Monday after he crossed the International Border (IB) in the Kathua district of Jammu division and advanced aggressively towards the border fence.
According to a BSF spokesman, BSF troops noticed suspicious movement near the IB and spotted the intruder crossing into Indian territory. Despite repeated warnings from the alert personnel, the man continued to move towards the fence in an aggressive manner.

Sensing a threat, the BSF troops opened fire, injuring him. He was immediately taken into custody and evacuated to the nearest hospital for treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries later.
The BSF has lodged a strong protest with its Pakistani counterparts over the incident.
