He was nabbed from the Pokaran region and, after preliminary questioning, was brought to the state capital for further interrogation on Friday. Investigators found that the accused had purchased a SIM card in his own name and shared it, along with the OTP, with his handlers for use across the border.
Call records revealed that he was in regular contact through at least three mobile phones. Security agencies have procured necessary evidence, including bank details of financial transactions made in favour of the accused in exchange for the information he provided, an official spokesperson said.
As a prima facie case has been established, Jabara Ram was formally arrested on Friday evening. On Saturday, he was produced before the trial court, which remanded him to CID Intelligence custody for five days, till February 4.
