Indian Army retaliates to firing by Pakistan troops at multiple places along LoC in J&K

Amid escalated tension between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 26 civilians were killed, the Indian Army on Friday effectively retaliated against firing by the Pakistan military at multiple places along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

There were no reports of any casualties.
Defence sources said there was small arms firing at some places on the LoC initiated by Pakistan. The Indian Army effectively responded. No casualties have been reported so far. Further details are being ascertained.

Pakistan troops targeted Indian positions along the LoC using small arms. Reports of firing by Pakistani troops in the Leepa valley of Kashmir have also been received.

Meanwhile, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi is reaching Srinagar today to review the security scenario. He will visit the Baisaran valley, where the dastardly terrorist attack took place.

The Army Chief will discuss the current situation with Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General MV Sachindra Kumar, Srinagar-based GOC of Chinar Corps Lt General Prashant Srivastava, and other top officers.
