Indian Railways has achieved 80 per cent overall punctuality of trains across India from 8-14 December and out of all its railway divisions, 22 have surpassed 90 per cent punctuality.
“From 8-14 December, the overall punctuality of trains across the country stood at 80 per cent, reflecting the sustained efforts of railway divisions to maintain schedules. Of all the divisions, 37 achieved punctuality above 80 per cent, while 22 divisions recorded punctuality above 90 per cent, and 10 divisions surpassed the 95 per cent mark,” the Ministry of Railways said on Thursday.

Among the top-performing divisions, Ratlam (Western Railway) recorded a remarkable 98.5 per cent punctuality, followed by Tiruchchirappalli (Southern Railway) at 97.5 per cent and Madurai (Southern Railway) at 96.7 per cent.
The enhanced efficiency has resulted in smoother train operations, benefiting both passengers and freight services.
