The Election Commission of India has achieved a significant milestone in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Phase II, with over 49 crore enumeration forms distributed to electors across 12 states and Union Territories as of November 12, the poll panel said on Sunday in its daily bulletin. It asserted that this represents 97.52 per cent of the total 50.99 crore electors covered in this phase.
The states and UTs involved in this phase include Andaman & Nicobar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. All participating states and UTs have achieved 100 per cent printing of enumeration forms, reflecting robust preparedness and logistical efficiency.

Uttar Pradesh: 15.07 crore forms distributed (97.64per cent coverage)
West Bengal: 7.59 crore forms distributed (99.16per cent coverage)
Madhya Pradesh: 5.70 crore forms distributed (99.45per cent coverage)
Gujarat: 5.04 crore forms distributed (99.16per cent coverage)
Tamil Nadu: 6.00 crore forms distributed (93.67per cent coverage)
Kerala: 2.61 crore forms distributed (93.72per cent coverage)
The Election Commission has urged political parties to appoint more Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to ensure enhanced scrutiny and transparency during the door-to-door verification process. The SIR Phase II enumeration exercise will continue till December 4.
