Haryana Police’s massive crackdown, Operation Trackdown, launched on 5 November, is showing strong results in cleaning up crime across the state. The operation aimed at strengthening law and order has already made a major impact prompting authorities to extend it for another week.
According to an official statement, between 5 and 21 November, the police arrested a total of 4,566 criminals. This includes 1,439 notorious and wanted offenders and 3,127 other accused involved in various crimes. The operation is moving fast with arrests happening almost daily.

On 21 November alone, the police caught 47 top criminals and 293 other accused. During this period, 17 new history sheets also opened to keep habitual offenders under strict surveillance.
In a key development, the Crime Branch of Sector-10 captured Sumit and Sanjeev (alias Sanju), wanted in a gold chain snatching case in Gurugram’s Sector-45 on 17 November. Sanju is facing 11 criminal cases, while Sumit has 10 serious cases including attempted murder, robbery, snatching, and Arms Act violations. Authorities believe their arrest will help reduce chain-snatching incidents in the area.
Another major breakthrough came with the arrest of Manish (alias Goga, 28) by the Crime Branch of Sector-17 near the Dwarka Expressway. Goga had 20 severe criminal cases against him and was on wanted list for firing at a youth near Sector-21 and issuing threats to others. His record includes murder, attempted murder, extortion, kidnapping, gang-related crimes.
Haryana Police say that so far, 5,251 arrests have been made under Operation Trackdown, and the campaign is far from over. Officials assert that their focused and aggressive approach will make the state much safer in the coming weeks.
