No scheme named ‘Pradhan Mantri Berozgar Bhatta Yojana’, clarifies government

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has flagged down a claim stating that the government of India is giving money to the unemployed youth under a new scheme. The claim was classified as fake after it went viral on multiple social media platforms.

The post stated that the government under the scheme “Pradhan Mantri Berozgari Batha Yojana” (Prime Minister’s Unemployment Allowance Scheme) is giving away Rs 3500 per month to the unemployed educated youth of the country. The post further claimed that to avail the benefit under the scheme one needs to apply along with the class XII and graduation marksheet, Aadhar card, mobile number and passport size photograph. Dubbing the claim as fake, the Press Information Bureau posted on X, stating that no such scheme has been launched by the government. “Under the Prime Minister’s Unemployment Allowance Scheme, the central government provides financial assistance of Rs 3500 to unemployed youth. This claim is bogus and being made through the video shorts of Youtube channel “Sarkariyojana045”. Please be careful. Don’t fall for such tempting claims,” the post read.

Notably, a similar claim was floated on WhatsApp in 2024. The PIB had flagged down the claim warning the public not to click on a suspicious link claiming the same. “Have you also received a WhatsApp forward claiming to provide Rs 3500 per month under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Berojgar Bhatta Yojana’ by the Government of India. No such scheme is being run by the Government of India,” PIB had said in a post on X.
