Responding to Dubey’s “patak patak ke marenge” remark, Thackeray had Friday said, “A BJP MP said, ‘Marathi logon ko hum yahan pe patak patak ke maarenge’…You come to Mumbai. Mumbai ke samundar mein dubo dubo ke maarenge.”

Tensions between the BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and MNS chief Raj Thackeray have escalated amid the ongoing Hindi language row in Maharashtra.

It all started when Thackeray told his supporters to hit those who do drama over not speaking Marathi below their eardrums.

Reacting to this, Dubey had dared the MNS chief to give the same treatment to Urdu speakers.

“To those beating Hindi speakers in Mumbai, if you have the courage, try beating Urdu speakers in Maharashtra. Even a dog is a tiger in its own home. Decide for yourself who is the dog and who is the tiger,” Dubey had said, adding “Tumko patak patak ke maarenge” (You will be thrashed badly, again and again.
