The National Investigation Agency has arrested a Maoist leader more than a decade back after he masterminded an ambush, where 4 BSF personnel were killed in Odisha.

According to information, identified as Ranju Khillo (40), a local resident of the Kadaguma village under Chitrakonda police station in Malkangiri district, was on the run after he masterminded the gruesome killing of the BSF personnel in Malkangiri district.

Acting on some ground-level intelligence reports, he was captured during a joint operation with the Odisha police in Malkangiri district.

An NIA team has been interrogating him after they produced him before a special court in Bhubaneswar.

Notably, four BSF personnel, including a commandant, died at an ambush by the Maoist in Malkangiri district as the BSF team was on their way to Chitrakonda from Balimela in February, 2012. Malkangiri is considered to be the worst-affected area of Maoists’ violence.
