In continuation of showcasing Incredible India to the world leaders, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be hosting Chinese President Xi Jinping at UNESCO world heritage in Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu as part of their second bilateral ‘informal summit’ to be held on October 11-12.

This is not the first time that the PM is hosting a foreign leader outside the national capital as he has maintained that other states should get their due in showcasing the world their beauty and culture.

In the last five years, the visiting dignitaries were given a first-hand experience of the diverse Indian hospitality from different parts of the country. It helped to promote the Indian culture, heritage, and diversity on the world stage.

The guests have witnessed the vibrant culture of the country from ancient heritage to spirituality, and architecture. The visits of different foreign leaders to different parts of the country has given an opportunity to the states to highlight their traditions to the world.

Recently, PM Modi hosted Japan’s PM Shinzo Abe and his wife in Ahmedabad. The duo visited the Sabarmati Ashram and Sidi Sayyed Mosque. Chinese President has also visited the Sabarmati riverfront in Ahmedabad during his last visit. Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu was also hosted in Ahmedabad.

On his visit to India, French President Emmanuel Macron visited Varanasi and Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh with PM Modi. German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited Bengaluru’s Bosch Research Centre.

In a series of foreign dignitaries being received by the Indian PM in different Indian states, the former French President Francois Hollande visited Chandigarh’s Rock Garden, Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull Akshardham Temple in Delhi, South Korean President Moon Jae-in Noida and US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump in Hyderabad for Global Entrepreneurship Summit.

Similarly, the German President Frank Walter visited Varanasi, Sarnath, and Chennai on his visit to India in March 2018. Similarly in February last year, the Canadian PM visited Golden Temple in Amritsar, the holy site for the Sikh community, Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat, and Mumbai.

Foreign dignitaries were also invited on different occasions apart from Independence Day. Last year during Diwali, the first lady of South Korea was the special invitee to Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya. This year, the PM of Mauritius Pravind Jugnauth was invited as the chief guest for the 15th Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas in Varanasi.
