Two ministers of the Madhya Pradesh BJP government on Saturday criticized Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party for, respectively, raising the “vote theft” controversy and for allegedly glorifying Pakistan.

Legislative Affairs and Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, in a video message, questioned how Sonia Gandhi became a voter in India even before acquiring citizenship.

Vijayvargiya asked Rahul Gandhi how his mother’s name was included in the voter list when she was not yet a citizen, and whether this did not amount to “vote theft.”

He asserted that such actions amounted to treachery against the nation, adding that people had now seen Rahul Gandhi’s “true face” and that he stood exposed.

Vijayvargiya also clarified that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) was not a new exercise, as the Election Commission had been conducting it in all states since Independence.

Similarly, Madhya Pradesh Sports Minister Vishwas Sarang accused the Congress of glorifying Pakistan. He claimed that while the entire nation was celebrating Independence Day, the Youth Congress circulated a social media hashtag about Pakistan’s Independence Day.

“While the country was celebrating Independence Day, the Youth Congress was busy glorifying Pakistan through a hashtag on social media,” Sarang alleged. “This is a clear example of the mindset of the Congress party, and of its leaders and workers,” he added.

Speaking about the festival of Krishna Janmashtami, Sarang further claimed that during Congress rule, only Eid and Christmas were officially celebrated, while festivals of Sanatan Dharma were ignored. He alleged that Congress politics had always been centered around appeasement.
