Office bearers of the MP Congress organised a ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ recital at the MP Congress headquarters in Bhopal on Tuesday as part of their ongoing protest against BJP leaders who had organised a bodybuilding contest in Ratlam on Sunday.
In the bodybuilding contest, female body builders clad in undergarments showed off their muscles and toned bodies in front of an idol of Lord Hanuman on the stage.
MP Congress media cell head K K Mishra organised the ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ in which several Congress leaders and workers took part. Speaking on the occasion, Mishra said all Congress spokespersons had decided to boycott BJP spokesperson Hitesh Vajpayee, who had spoken in favour of the BJP leaders who had organised the blasphemous event.

Yesterday, Congress workers sprayed ‘Ganga Jal’ in the auditorium in Ratlam where the event was organised. The Congress had also organised ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ at Ratlam yesterday.
On Sunday, the BJP’s Ratlam Mayor Prahlad Patel had organised a national-level bodybuilding contest, in the presence of BJP MLA Chaitanya Kashyap and other senior BJP leaders. In the event, several female body builders clad in bikinis were seen walking on the stage and flexing their muscles in front of an idol of Lord Hanuman.
Congress spokesperson Sangeeta Sharma demanded suspension of Chaitanya Kashyap’s membership of the state Assembly and a police case against the organisers of the event.
