Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said on Wednesday that public servants are the medium through which the government’s spirit of public welfare and development is implemented on the ground.

He said good governance plays a vital role in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India. Ensuring that the benefits of schemes and programmes aimed at public welfare and people’s upliftment reach the last person standing at the last mile is proof of a public servant’s commitment to their duty.

The chief minister was addressing the 2020 and 2021 batch Deputy Collectors on Wednesday. Twenty-seven trainee officers undergoing introductory training at the Academy of Administration, Bhopal, visited the Chief Minister at Samatva Bhavan, CM Residence, for a courtesy call.

CM Dr Yadav said the officers selected through the civil services examination are expected to discharge their responsibilities with courage, selflessness, integrity, and dedication. They should also enhance the system’s effectiveness through innovations.

Dr Yadav urged the trainee officers to remain studious, be in a constant process of learning, avoid arrogance, and always uphold human values in their conduct. He said that humility and the spirit of service should form the foundation of public service. He pointed out that officers can leave a lasting impression on the public through their conduct and personality.

CM Dr Yadav also interacted with the trainees about their family backgrounds, fields of study, and interests.
