The BJP government in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday approved various infrastructure and public welfare proposals worth ₹10,800 crore.
At a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav at the State Secretariat here, the cabinet sanctioned ₹8,445 crore for urban infrastructure development to accelerate city transformation. It also approved several far-reaching decisions, including an interest-free government guarantee of ₹1,587 crore for moong procurement to benefit farmers and the continuation of the Kundaliya Major Irrigation Project to expand irrigation facilities.

The Cabinet sanctioned ₹245.45 crore for the continued implementation of the Water Resources Department’s Kundaliya Major Irrigation Project in the Rajgarh district during the 16th Central Finance Commission, spanning April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031. The project, one of the state’s major irrigation schemes, aims to develop irrigation potential over 1,39,600 hectares in Rajgarh and Agar-Malwa districts through dam construction and a micro-irrigation system.
The Cabinet approved an interest-free government guarantee of ₹1,587 crore for the procurement of moong exceeding the Government of India’s target under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) for the Rabi Marketing Season 2024-25 (Rabi Year 2023-24). Under the decision, the State Government will provide an interest-free government guarantee of ₹396 crore for the outstanding credit limit availed from Punjab National Bank for a period of six months, from July 19, 2026, to January 18, 2027.
The Cabinet decided to transfer the responsibility for the production and supply of Take-Home Ration (THR) from the Madhya Pradesh Rajya Ajeevika Forum to the Women and Child Development Department with immediate effect.
As an interim arrangement, the department has been authorised to procure and supply supplementary nutrition through Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The department has also been authorised to ensure the supply of Take-Home Ration through short-term tenders until the Government of India issues revised guidelines and a permanent arrangement is put in place in accordance with those guidelines. A permanent mechanism will be put in place in accordance with the revised central guidelines.
