The monsoon session of the Jharkhand Assembly, scheduled from 1 to 7 August, will centre on agrarian concerns, with a special discussion on crop damage caused by excessive rainfall slated for the second half of the 6 August sitting. The decision was taken in an all-party meeting chaired by the Speaker.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren, addressing reporters after the meeting, said the session comes at a time when large parts of Jharkhand have been affected by heavy rains. He said the Assembly would serve as a forum for serious dialogue on issues that directly impact farmers, and called for cooperation from the opposition. “Disruption yields little,” he remarked, adding that the government is sensitive to the concerns of citizens across both urban and rural regions.
