Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched a scathing attack against the Trinamool Congress, accusing the Mamata Banerjee-led party of betraying the youth of Bengal by giving jobs meant for the state’s youth to infiltrators and running a “reign of terror through its syndicates”.
While addressing a public gathering in East Medinipur, Prime Minister Modi asserted that the TMC won’t be able to wash its alleged “sins” even in the next 100 years.

“TMC has done double betrayal to the youth of Bengal. There are no jobs in the private sector here, and even if there are, **they have been given** to the infiltrators. TMC ministers are looting the government vacancies,” Modi said.
He further accused the ruling party in West Bengal of giving reservations based on religion to please its vote bank. “The courts have repeatedly rejected this, but appeasement politics is so dominant that they neither follow the court nor respect the Constitution,” the PM alleged.
He assured the BJP would act according to the Constitution and ensure everyone receives their rightful due. “And this is Modi’s guarantee,” he added.
The Prime Minister alleged that the Trinamool Congress has run a reign of terror through its syndicates, claiming that nothing moves in the state without “cut money and commissions”. He said factories were closed due to the syndicates’ reign of terror, as they couldn’t operate under fear.
“TMC has run a syndicate-driven system, where nothing moves without cut money and commissions. But factories run on trust, not on syndicates. And this trust can only be provided by the BJP,” he said.
He claimed that the “development” seen in states governed by the BJP builds confidence that similar progress will be achieved in Bengal as well. West Bengal will go to the polls in two phases – April 23 and April 29. The counting of votes will take place on May 4.
