The Mhow Cantonment Board in Madhya Pradesh has served a demolition notice to the occupants and heirs of a house linked to the family of Al-Falah Group chairman Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, alleging that the structure was built without the required permissions.

Officials confirmed on Wednesday that the board has given the residents three days to pull down the unauthorised portion, failing which the cantonment will carry out the removal itself and recover the expense from those responsible.

The development comes at a time when Faridabad-based Al Falah University, operated by the Al-Falah Group, is under intense scrutiny in the Delhi Red Fort blast investigation. The November 10 explosion left 15 people dead and many injured, and several individuals associated with the university have since come under the scanner.

House flagged for violations since the 1990s

Cantonment Engineer HS Kaloya said the property in question belongs to the family of the late Moulana Hammad, father of Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui. He added that, as mentioned in the notice, the department had previously issued “multiple communications dating back to 1996 and 1997 under relevant sections of the Cantonments Act, 1924, directing the removal of the unauthorised construction.”

He added that the earlier instructions were ignored.

The house, listed as number 1371, stands on survey number 245/1245 in Mhow’s Mukeri Mohalla locality.

Previous police action against family member

Officials also noted that Madhya Pradesh Police recently arrested Hamood Ahmed Siddiqui, brother of Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, from Hyderabad for his alleged role in a decades-old financial fraud case in Mhow. Hamood was picked up on Sunday in connection with what police described as a large-scale scam that dates back nearly 25 years.

Al Falah University under investigation

The Delhi blast’s main accused, Dr Umar Un Nabi, worked as an assistant professor in the general medicine department at Al-Falah University. With multiple accused in the case reportedly linked to the institution, investigators are now examining university records, financial dealings, and administrative paperwork as part of the wider probe into the “white-collar” module.
