Maharashtra: 80 lakh women found ineligible for Ladki Bahin scheme

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah here on Wednesday.
It was Sunetra Pawar’s first visit to Delhi after she was sworn in as the first woman deputy chief minister of the state following the demise of her husband and former deputy CM Ajit Pawar in a plane crash on January 28 in Baramati.

In a post on X in Marathi, the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister said, “Had a goodwill meeting with the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, in New Delhi.”

“After taking oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, I paid a goodwill visit to the Home Minister of the country, Amit Shah, in New Delhi,” she said in another X post .
On February 10, Sunetra Pawar took charge as the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra in the Mantralaya and promised to make an honest effort to uphold the legacy and ideals of her late husband Ajit Pawar and build a more capable state.
Sunetra Pawar further stated that she would continue to work with unwavering loyalty and devotion for the welfare of the state.
She was accompanied by NCP Working President Praful Patel, state unit chief Sunil Tatkare, ministers including Chhagan Bhujbal, Hasan Mushrif, Narhari Zirwal among others.
She was sworn in on January 31 as the deputy CM and allocated the departments of sports and youth welfare, excise and minority affairs and on Tuesday she attended her first Cabinet meeting as the Deputy CM.
