In Pune, BJP candidates Manjusha Nagpure and Shrikant Jagtap were elected unopposed from Ward No. 35 of the Pune Municipal Corporation, marking a significant early gain for the party.

Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol attributed the unopposed wins to the development work carried out in the city under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

“BJP candidates Manjusha Nagpure and Shrikant Jagtap are elected unopposed from Ward No. 35 of the Pune Municipal Corporation. This is a result of the development work carried out in Pune under the leadership of PM Modi and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis… This is the beginning for ensuring that Pune gets a BJP Mayor,” Mohol said.

He also clarified that the BJP and Shiv Sena will contest the Pune Municipal Corporation elections separately, as consensus could not be reached on some seats. However, he stressed that the contest would remain amicable.

“…BJP and Shiv Sena will contest the Pune Municipal Corporation elections separately… However, this will be a friendly contest,” Mohol added.
